Annual Fire Extinguisher Inspection/Maintenance

According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) the Annual Maintenance of a Fire Extinguisher consists of a thorough examination of each Fire Extinguisher.  It is intended to ensure that a Fire Extinguisher will operate safely.  This means verifying that the extinguisher is not damaged or requiring replacement.  The Fire Extinguisher is also checked to determine if hydrostatic testing or internal maintenance is required.  Some of the things we check:

• Is the Fire Extinguisher in a designated place?
• Are there any obstructions to access or visibility?
• Is Fire Extinguisher Signage in place & legible?
• Are the operating instructions visible & legible?
• Is the tamper seal in place?
• Is the extinguisher pressure gauge in the operable range?
• What is the date of the last internal maintenance or hydrostatic test?
• A detailed report submitted to the Customer.
